Big Lots is a nationally recognized big box retailer with visibility throughout much of America - though relative awareness existed about the company, their strategy for reaching and engaging with the buyers and customers of tomorrow, Gen Z, faltered. The executive team at Big Lots contacted Youth Logic to develop a plan, strategy, and workshop to get employees on the same page to better reach the young people of America.
To make sure the messages and approaches developed by Youth Logic were implemented and understood on a company-wide level, the speech by the YL team was broadcasted to multiple departments throughout the corporate-level at Big Lots. After the initial speech, we met with executives from each department and got into the specifics regarding how to best implement the newly shared information, personalizing our insights for the goals and targets within the various sectors of the company.
This was a successful endeavor, as Big Lots has recently seen increased affinity in the main Gen Z age groups and demographics. Our proprietary approach and Gen Z strategy allowed the company to better immerse themselves and integrate with the ever-changing digital environment where the youth currently exist, impacting the long term trajectory of this legacy retailer's relationship with Gen Z.
